  • Girls and boys born 2014–2013 (10–11 years) - Association strength: Easy and Difficult.
  •  Girls and boys born in 2012 (12 years) - Association strength: Light, Medium, and Hard.

Registered teams can themselves indicate which level they want to participate at.

Girls and boys 13-17 (2011-2007)

Each age group is divided into groups with 4-6 teams in each group, where everyone faces everyone. After that, the 1st and 2nd in each group go on to the A play-offs. The 3rd and 4th go to the B playoffs. In classes with only one group, the 1st to the 4th go to the A playoffs and the B playoffs are cancelled. In the event of a ban on regular pitches, the B play-offs may be cancelled.

P/F-13 and P/F-14 play 9-man but 7-man goals are used

Girls and boys 6-12 have pool play without placement. No results and tables may appear and no winners may be crowned.

ATTENTION! Limited number of teams in each age group. The Gothenburg Cup  Footbal is sanctioned by the Swedish Football Association and thus complies with the SvFF's competition regulations and also with regard to dispensaries.

Game rules

The Gothenburg Cup is played according to FIFA and SFF rules with the following exceptions:

No limit on the number of substitutes. Flying substitutions are allowed throughout the match.

In the event of expulsion, automatic suspension applies for the next match. In case of expulsion for gross misconduct, additional penalties may be imposed by the competition jury.

In the event of a tie in the playoffs, the match will be decided by penalty kicks according to FIFA rules. However, not in the A-final or B-final where extension takes place with 2 x 5 minutes. If there is still a tie after that (in the A/B final), the match will be decided by a penalty kick competition according to FIFA rules.

Equipment

Ball size 4 is used in boys 10, 11 and 12 and in girls 10, 11 and 12. Leg protection is mandatory for all. Studs may only be used in boys/girls 15 or older.

Dispensary/overage players

There is an automatic dispensation for 4 overage players (1 year above the current age group) in the squad, a maximum of 2. be on the pitch at the same time.

Other dispensations are handled by the competition management on a case-by-case basis and must be notified via our cup system well in advance of the cup start.

Combined/temporary teams

Gothenburg Cup does not allow combined/temporary teams, only players belonging to representative teams can participate, this rule applies without exception.

List of participants

All players participating in the tournament must be registered via our cup system before the cup starts.

Protests

Protests must be submitted in writing by the responsible leader to the competition secretariat at Katrinelundsgymnasiet by the protesting team's responsible leader no later than 60 minutes after the relevant match has ended

Protest fee (1000 SEK) must be paid at the same time as the protest is submitted. The protest fee is refunded if the protest is approved

Tävlingsjuryn består av representanter från Göteborg Cup och Svenska domarförbundet. Protest- och bestraffningsärenden handläggs av juryn. Dess beslut kan ej överklagas

Walk over and suspended match

Teams that do not participate in the match may lose the match by 0-3 following the decision of the competition jury. In case of repeated non-appearance, teams may be excluded from the tournament. The competition jury can, however, decide that teams should be excluded already at the first offence, if special circumstances exist, e.g. that a deliberate WO favors the own team or disadvantages another team in the group.

If a match is interrupted and cannot be completed, the jury decides whether the match should be replayed from the start or continue from the time when the match was interrupted or whether the result of the match should be determined or if one of the teams or both teams lose the match by 0-3.

Age control

At the age check, all players on the participant list must be present in person and be able to provide identification.

Match shirts and vests

All match uniforms must be numbered and the numbers must correspond to those indicated on the lineup

The numbering must be on the back of the match shirt. Two players may not have the same number on the shirt during the same match.

If the match referee judges that one team should change uniforms due to similarity in color with the other team's uniforms, the last-mentioned team in the order of play, i.e. "away team", switch. This means that each team must bring spare sets or vests.
